Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to everyone (a little late.)  Christmas day was a wonderful day, but it was overshadowed by a bout of sickness in our house.  Lauren's yuckiness came back in full force and definitely affected the photos of our day.  So, in advance, sorry that there aren't as many pictures of the day, but we were dealing with a vomit-filled Christmas.-MLT

"Merry Christmas"  Papa has been trying to get me to say those words for a couple of days now.  Doesn't he know how hard it is?

Here I am playing with my new Quiet Book that I opened up last night.

Trying to get a good family picture is hard work.

Presenting: "The Christmas Bean"

IMG_5108

I got to open two presents at a time.  Here I am opening up a new baby stroller, swing and play yard set.

IMG_5110IMG_5112

Here I am with a new soft activity book.  I can do all sorts of fun things with the teddy bear like tuck him into bed.  Daddy is showing me how it works.  Thanks Grandpa & Grandma T!

IMG_5115

Here I am sitting on top of my new giant foam puzzle from Grammy & Papa.  I got on top of it all by myself so Mama though it deserved a picture.

IMG_5116

Here I am with Daddy's new wireless headphones.  Now Mommy doesn't have to listen to the tv at the same level as Daddy (or she doesn't have to listen to it while she's trying to have peace upstairs.)  They were a gift from Grammy & Papa for Daddy, but Mama says that they were just as much a gift for her because as I'm writing this, Daddy is downstairs watching the Vikings game, and she doesn't have to hear it too.

There are no more pictures of us opening gifts because I accidentally threw up on some of them.  Mommy quit taking pictures during that time so she could concentrate on me.

Here I am in my playroom (finally a picture of it.)  I'm trying to put my baby in the stroller.  You can see a bunch of my new Christmas gifts in this picture too.  Don't mind the pile of toys next to the shelf, they need to be stored away since I don't play with them anymore.  Mama had to weed them out before we could find homes for my new ones.

Here I am already climbing into my babies pack-and-play.  This is not meant for a baby my size (as Mama kept telling me.)

IMG_5127IMG_5128

I told Mama that "I understand" so I had to get out of the baby p-n-p.

Christmas Eve

When I woke up on Christmas Eve, I was feeling a lot better than the day before.  Although, Mommy says I was definitely not myself because I was sooo snuggly.  Here's a picture of Daddy and I snuggling.  Oh, and check out all the presents.  Mama joked that they were all for me and that I was spoiled, but she wasn't serious.

Here I am showing off my mothering skills.  I tucked Monk into bed on my pillow and covered him up with one of my blankies.

IMG_5049IMG_5051IMG_5052

I think Mommy let me get away with more than usual because it was Christmas Eve and I wasn't feeling so well.  Here I am up on the counter "double fisting" (mama's words) it into the Chex mix.  It sure was yummy!

Here I am showing off my laptop to Great Grandpa Jack (Mommy's Grandpa.)

Here's a picture of me with Mommy and my "Lauren" Santa hat that was too big for me last year.

IMG_5070

Here I am feeling kind of snuggly again.

IMG_5071

I got to open two presents on Christmas Eve.  This one had super super exciting white ribbon on it.  I was so excited by the fun ribbon Mommy had to remind me that there was something special inside just for me.

IMG_5072IMG_5073

It sure tasted delicious.  This was from The Irons Family in TX.  My Great Aunt Tiny and Great Uncle Russ are super nice and got me this great book.  Mommy let me in on a secret that she had been looking at that same exact book online to get for me, so I think she really loved the gift too.  It's super neat-o and has activities for me to do inside (from www.pocketsoflearning.com)

Here is an action shot of me opening my gift from Auntie Jen & Uncle Craig.

IMG_5080IMG_5082

Here I am sporting my Harley Davidson outfit!!  I bet you didn't know they make awesome toddler clothing too.

IMG_5084

Jen & Craig love motorcycles and Harley Davidson (Auntie Jen even has a purple one, she's super cool!!)  I've been collecting awesome Harley stuff since I was born!  This outfit is super comfy on the inside too, very fuzzy and soft.  I can't wait to grow another inch so I can wear it without ruining the hem.

IMG_5086

Everyone got to open a gift on Christmas eve.  Here I am sporting Mama's new fuzzy socks.  They're like knee socks on me.  She sure has big feet.

IMG_5087

Time to take my socks off and take a bath.

Daddy Blogging from the Quarantine Zone

It is never good to be sick, and nobody ever wants to get sick, but I've learned something today.  If you're in a house with kids, and you absolutely cannot avoid getting sick, then you never want to be the first person to get sick.  This is my tale of woe.

On Sunday I was sick.  Not just a little bit sick, oh no.  We're not talking about a headache and a stuffy nose here, we're talking face in the toilet, sweating it out under the blankets, in bed for the whole day sick.  And even though I got better, it took several days before everything in my body was right again.

Then Lauren got sick.  She's been vomiting for three days now.  A couple times on Tuesday, several times on Christmas, and once today.  Not long after, Misty got sick too.  Then Misty's mother.  Misty's dad, Rick, looks like a war vet in a fireworks factory as he's watching everyone fall to biological warfare...just wondering when it is his turn.

That leaves me, the first person to get sick and the first person to get well, in the position of caring for a sick baby and a sick wife.  It isn't a pleasant time in the Thompson house today.  Rick and I have managed to get Lauren to eat some fruit and crackers, and she's doing a good job of getting her fluids.  Misty on the other hand can't keep water down.  As a general rule, anything that makes me sick will do twice the damage to Misty.  I guess her immune system gets beat down by the army of petri dish children that she encounters in her work.  That means that she is going to be out of commission for the rest of the weekend most likely.  We'll see how it goes.

My Christmas Pictures

Here are the Christmas pictures that Mommy had taken last Thursday.

Tuesday

I woke up this morning feeling sick.  I don't know what was wrong but when Mama came into my room to get me she said something about "throw-up."  It took me awhile and a few new words later (like vomit for example) to realized she was talking about me and what was going on with me.  I wasn't feeling very good all morning long.  After a breakfast of oatmeal, (which Mama was hoping would soothe my tummy) that came back up about 20 minutes later Mama decided we would take a shower together.  It was a lot of fun.  She stood up and I played with my toys and enjoyed the water dribbling down on me from that neat shower head thing.  Mama changed my clothes 3 times today (because I was sick on them) and finally just let me play in the bathtub in a onesie for awhile.  I took a long nap too.  I needed the rest.

Later today, Grammy and Papa came up because it's almost Christmas and we're going to celebrate at our house this year.

Here is me & Papa playing with an early Christmas gift, blocks!!  I love to knock down the towers and Papa loves to build them.  I think he has more fun building than I do right now.

Snowed In

Today we're snowed in.  The snow is coming down like crazy (more like sideways) and the once clear driveway is now drifted over again.  Mommy and Daddy let me play outside today too.  It was a lot of fun.  But first, here's a picture of me stealing Daddy's hat (but really it's Mommy's hat the he stole from her.)

IMG_5030

As you can see from the picture, Daddy shaved his head again (like he does every winter.)  Mommy doesn't like it at all.  I don't mind because it's fun to rub it.

IMG_5032IMG_5035

Here I am playing on the deck while it was being shoveled.

IMG_5034IMG_5037

IMG_5040IMG_5041

Here we are in a pile of snow.  Daddy shoveled it onto mommy to keep her in one place.  After we were done on the deck I got to go over to Phil & Janet's to play with their doggy Calliea.  Then I had lunch and took a nap.  When I woke up Phil & Janet were downstairs playing Wii with Mama and Daddy.  Then, they finished playing games on the Wii and played with me.  They're going to be having a baby next year so they considered me good practice.  I really like Phil (because he's a boy and I really like boys.)  When they went home a few hours later I asked Janet for a hug before she left.  It sure was a busy day.

Pre-Christmas Photos (aka "For the love of a Sippy")

I decided that I wanted to get some pictures taken of Lauren in her Christmas outfit. The requirements were: they need to be back before Christmas and they need to be cheap. Here are some pre-pictures taken before we left the house.

IMG_5025

The dress is Gymbo (natch) Holiday Friends. She has a matching hat too, but I didn't want to mess up her hair before the pics.

Now that's a thirsty bean!
